McTUFF
March 26/27
What began as an ode to some of the organ greats in soul jazz, such as delivering their own take on the works of Jimmy Smith and Captain Jack McDuff, soon turned into something more. A movement towards being a band that can appeal to almost any audience, room, and vibe. Melody, dynamics, and groove...from the soft and surreal to deep funk. From swinging soul...all the way to the thumping metal grind...no musical stone gets unturned. McTUFF is about letting it all go and having fun, a moment of time to remember the groove laid down by the soul masters as well as introduce original works of their own.

With the caliber of musicianship, honesty, and improvisational experience... combined with a love of all styles and genres of music, MCTUFF combines the ingredients to show live audiences that no show is the same.

Joe Doria captains the Hammond Organ, the world-renowned "Skerik" on tenor sax, the impeccable Andy Coe on guitar, and the incredible Dvonne Lewis on drums. MCTUFF is the name - let's get into trouble baby!

Missionary Position
9:30 pm
“A particularly dirty brand of rock and roll: the kind found in vinyl collections alongside classics such as the Doors - Dirty but intelligent” -Lauren Napier

“The Missionary Position, has the ability to make the knees of every chick in town with questionable morals quiver.” - Matt Driscoll

“Angell sings with soul-flavored swagger that’s akin to a young Robert Plant. Paying homage to the seedier sides of life - cheap sex, doomed relationships and murderous intentions.” –Ernest Jasmin

“Thrillingly dark, melodic alt rock.”

“Urgently sexual music…. Undeniable!”

“Angell reminds would-be rockers what a front-mans role is”

“Melodically dark, texturally rich hard rock”

“Jeff Angell has a rough-hewn edge to his voice - one that, given a couple years and some harrowing near-death experiences, could land somewhere near Mark Lanegan's”
